A few decades of work with the Fairmount Water Works have included projects as diverse as Adaptive Re-use plan preparation, Historic Landscape Reports, and the preparation of construction documents and construction observation. As part of the project team, Menke & Menke designed the expanded parking area, the south Garden restoration, and is continuing at present with the restoration of the cliffs between the Water Works and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Carrying forward a quarter century of involvement with the world renowned civil engineering landmark, projects have ranged from adaptive reuse planning to construction documentation and construction observation. Menke & Menke worked with a number of diverse teams over the years, researching and designing the parking areas, restoring the south garden and cliffs walks. The project was recently awarded the Grand Jury award from the Philadelphia Preservation Alliance.
