William has lectured on a range of historic landscape topics for many organizations including the PA Horticultural Society, ASLA, Winterthur, NY Botanic Garden, and Barnes Arboretum. His article on Olmsted's Long Meadow was published in the Journal of Garden History. He has served as a judge for Philadelphia Flower Show and as the chair of the Historic Preservation Committee, PA/DE Chapter of the ASLA for many years.
